More about Nancy....
Nancy Nguyen is a First Generation, trilingual city girl with a Southern soul. She was born in a refugee camp and then raised in Raleigh, N.C. This former high school homecoming and prom queen loves “Southern Hospitality,” enjoys grits, and currently lives in Chicago, IL. Nancy has competed in local, state, and national pageants that support education and philanthropy since 1996. She is thrilled to be the current Miss United States. Her drive and engaging personality reflect a very diverse background.
Nancy earned an MBA from DePaul University Kellstadt Graduate School of Business
She also has a BA from North Carolina State University where she majored in Spanish and Literature with a minor in Criminology Nancy is also a Licensed Cosmetologist.
She recently received the Dr. John N. Nicholson Fellowship Scholarship and the Curtis J. Crawford XCEO Personal Leadership Scholarships. She has also been honored as the Honoree of the Louis de Marillac Woman of Spirit and Action Award.
Her interests include networking, traveling, salsa and ballroom dancing, and watching sports. She enjoys Country, Hip-Hop, R&B, Rock, Broadway, Latin, World, anything and everything that makes her get up and dance. She absolutely loves Country’s sensation Keith Anderson. Nancy's favorite TV shows include watching White Sox Baseball, Steelers Football, Cop shows, MSNBC, 20/20, Nancy Grace, and Spanish TV.
As a First Generation American and the first to receive a Master’s degree in her family, Nancy looks to inspire others to have courage to pursue their dreams especially in the business world. She hopes to one day use her strengths and experiences to produce a TV show.
She is launching a unique fashion line that celebrates her Southern upbringing and authoring a book about networking in the business world.
